Twenty-five years of coaching, pointed at one thing: your golf game.
I am Tony Rowan. I coach golfers in Surprise, Arizona to build a body that lets them play the golf they know they are capable of playing.
I got into training through education and coaching. My background started in physical education and athletics, where I saw firsthand how much the right training could change not only an athlete’s performance, but also their confidence, discipline, and overall well-being.
As I continued coaching, I became increasingly interested in what happens beyond the playing field: how people move, why they develop limitations, how strength and mobility affect performance, and how training can help someone stay active for the long term.
The moment I knew this was what I wanted to do came from seeing the real-world impact of coaching. Watching someone become stronger, move with more confidence, overcome a limitation, or accomplish something they didn’t think they could do was more rewarding than simply seeing a number go up in the weight room.
That realization changed how I approached training. I stopped looking at exercise as simply a workout and started seeing it as a tool for performance, confidence, health, and longevity.
Over the past twenty-plus years, that philosophy has continued to evolve. Today, my focus is helping golfers understand that their swing doesn’t exist in isolation. The body creates the foundation for the swing.
That’s ultimately what led to On In 2 Performance Golf: combining my background in education, coaching, strength and conditioning, and golf performance to help golfers build a body that allows them to play better and keep playing longer.
The PracticeTeaching is where I learned that you do not hand thirty people the same worksheet and call it instruction. You read the person in front of you and build the thing around them. That is how I write programs, and it is why I describe the work as a practice rather than a product. Your plan is tailored craft, never a copy-and-paste program: it changes based on your age, experience, goals, movement quality, injury history, and current fitness level, and it keeps changing as you do.
“There is no ‘On In 2 workout.’ There is an On In 2 approach. Assess. Build. Train. Adapt. Perform. That’s how I coach.”Tony Rowan, On In 2 Performance
